ABOUT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Lorem Ipsum Dolor

Milton Academy combines rigorous academics, vibrant student life, and a distinctive boarding and day community. Our students are challenged to think deeply, explore widely, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

Our unique structure—comprising Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools—creates a strong sense of continuity and community, allowing students to be known, tested, and supported at every step of their educational journey. Half of our Upper School students live on campus as part of a dynamic boarding community that adds richness and global perspectives to daily life at Milton.

Driven by our motto, “Dare to be true,” Milton encourages students to discover who they are and who they will become. Here, young people are empowered to lead, to express themselves with confidence, to take risks, and to make a meaningful impact on their communities and the world.

Milton has been renowned for more than two centuries for its academic excellence, innovative teaching, and a commitment to educating the whole child. Yet what truly defines us is the joy of our community: a place where students form lifelong friendships, pursue their passions with purpose, and become their truest, boldest selves. Dare to be Milton. Dare to be true.

Diversity—in backgrounds, identities, talents, and viewpoints—is one of Milton’s greatest strengths.

Our students come from across the country and around the world, creating a learning environment where curiosity thrives, differences are celebrated, and understanding grows.

Our MISSION

Milton Academy cultivates in its students a passion for learning and a respect for others. Embracing diversity and the pursuit of excellence, we create a community in which individuals develop competence, confidence and character. Our active learning environment, in and out of the classroom, develops creative and critical thinkers, unafraid to express their ideas, prepared to seek meaningful lifetime success and to live by our motto, “Dare to be true.”

About the Middle School

At Milton Academy, our Middle School community values guide everything we do: how we connect with one another, approach challenges, and contribute to our shared experience each day. More than just ideals, these values shape our culture, inform our choices, and bring our community together–helping every student feel a sense of purpose, belonging, and responsibility within the life of the school.

Our Community Values

These values shape how students learn, lead, collaborate, and support one another every day. Intentionally embedded into student life, daily practice, and our shared spaces, they are not simply named; students live and experience them every day.

Authenticity:

Be Real. Be Yourself.

We are true to ourselves and show up authentically because that’s where growth and discovery begin.

Dignity:

Uplift Others. Honor Humanity.

We value every person’s presence, voice, and perspective. This is our baseline.

Initiative:

Step up. Lean in.

We take responsibility for our actions and learning. We work hard, advocate for what we need, and take ownership over our experience.

Our Faculty: Relationships That Inspire

What makes Milton truly special is the depth of the students’ relationships with our faculty. The adults in our community don’t just teach—they mentor, guide, and inspire. Our teachers know students as learners and as people, helping them navigate the important academic, social, and personal growth that defines the middle school years.
