Nesto Gallery
Contemporary Arts Exhibits on Campus
Established in 1972, the Nesto Gallery has been at the heart of Milton Academy’s Visual Arts program for more than 50 years. Featuring artists from New England and beyond, the gallery brings nationally and internationally recognized exhibitors to campus, enriching and expanding our community’s perspective on art and allowing our students to meet and collaborate directly with artists.
Each year, the gallery presents five to six exhibitions by professional artists, including an outdoor sculpture series, in conjunction with an artist lecture and workshop program sponsored by donor Ann Nesto, P ‘67 ‘69 ‘73 ‘80.
The gallery exhibitions program also sponsors five or six Visual Arts student exhibits a year in the Arts Commons Gallery in Kellner Performing Arts Center, as well as numerous other student exhibits in various other locations around campus.
Recognized as a respected exhibition venue, the Nesto Gallery has earned coverage in The Boston Globe, Art New England, ArtScope Magazine, and other regional and metropolitan publications.

The Gallery is open Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm during the academic year, or by appointment.

Milton Legacy
ART ARCHIVE
Founded in 2014, the Legacy Artworks Series honors outstanding student achievement in the Visual Arts. Each year, faculty select about six student works across a range of media to be framed and displayed on campus for five years. Honorees may reclaim their work at their Fifth Reunion, or donate it to the school’s collection.
This initiative, supported by Nesto Gallery exhibition gift funds, celebrates the enduring creativity of Milton students.

Artists interested in exhibiting at the Nesto Gallery should email a proposal to Nesto_Director@milton.edu. Please include:
- An exhibition proposal
- Links to your website or digital images of work
- A current artist CV
Exhibition schedules are established 12–18 months in advance and reviewed each fall. The Gallery prioritizes contemporary Boston-area artists, especially emerging voices at the start of their careers, and seeks to reflect a diversity of racial, cultural, and gender perspectives. Exhibitors are also expected to engage with Milton students through artist talks and workshops.
