The Town of Milton & Milton Academy: A Strong Community Connection
Since its founding in 1798, Milton Academy has enjoyed a close, collaborative relationship with the Town of Milton. That partnership began with the donation of a building to house the Town’s first public school in 1866, and it continues today through shared resources, local engagement, and meaningful financial support.
We are proud to be one of Milton’s largest employers and to educate nearly 200 students annually who live in the town of Milton. We open our Centre Street campus, which spans academic, administrative, athletic, and residential buildings, to local families, youth sports, and community organizations.
A Fiscal Responsibility
Each year, Milton makes substantial voluntary cash donations to the town’s general fund, first responders, public institutions like the library and teen center, and other community nonprofits aligned with the school’s mission. The school also makes annual cash and/or item donations to other organizations in the town that align with the school’s mission. These donations total approximately $23,500 for Fiscal 2025. Our understanding is that this annual level of support, nearly $300,000 for Fiscal 2025, makes the school the largest not-for-profit contributor to the town.
